Weight Limits Return To Lithia Pinecrest

Despite a strong recommendation and presentation from county staff and engineers to remove Lithia Pinecrest Rd. from the truck route plan, Hillsborough County Commissioners instead voted 4-3 to reinstate load limit restriction of 50,000 pounds on Lithia Pinecrest Rd.

Although a success for Lithia Pinecrest Rd. residents, the success was close to being even sweeter if District Four Commissioner Ronda Storms had her way. Storms made a motion at the October 2 county commission meeting to remove Lithia Pinecrest and Bloomingdale from the truck route plan. Although the entire effort began simply to reinstate weight limit signs that were removed from the roadway last year, after county staff met with 300 residents at Lithia Springs Elementary in August and started researching the roadway, they determined that reinstating weight limits would not solve the problem.

Newsome Boundaries Still Up In The Air

UPDATE:
Newsome High School Boundary Meeting November 7. The next school boundary committee meeting for Newsome High School, currently under construction on FishHawk Blvd. across from FishHawk Ranch, is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, November 7 at the Bloomingdale High School Cafeteria.

STORY:
Newsome High School will open next fall across from the fast-growing FishHawk Ranch community. The high school site is needed because surrounding Bloomingdale and Riverview High Schools are the two most over-crowded in the county but parents in surrounding communities are torn over who to send there.

FishHawk Creek Golf Gets Water Permits

Developers of the FishHawk Creek Golf Course located adjacent to the Lithia Pinecrest entrance to FishHawk Ranch Phase I are a step closer to breaking ground after receiving watering approval.

"We are getting close, we have all our permits now," says course supervisor Jerry Stack.

Bloomingdale Taxing District Saves Trees

Despite plans detailed by School District officials that promise relief to Riverview High School, Durant High School and Bloomingdale High School, parents, administrators and residents on the School Boundary Committee for Newsome High School, located on FishHawk Blvd. across from FishHawk Ranch, are facing a difficult decision and not yet leaning towards any preference.
