The lakefront community of Bloomingdale Ridge is located in Riverview, just south of Bloomingdale Ave. on U.S. Hwy. 301 S. The 271-home deed restricted neighborhood has homes ranging from 1,200-2,300 sq. ft. that are priced at $200,000 and up.
The family-oriented community has an active homeowners association (HOA) that plans annual social events for the community. Donna Fore, president of the HOA, wants the association to be more involved within the community. The group recently instituted a Yard of the Month recognition that Fore says is just the beginning of an effort to make residents appreciate their community.
"We are hearing that our neighbors want more community interaction," said Fore, who has lived in Bloomingdale Ridge for six years with her husband, Pat. "So this year, the association is planning a golf tournament in November at Summerfield Crossings Golf Club which will help us raise money for a nice family picnic in the spring."
Bloomingdale Ridge resident, Erik Luvinsky feels the proximity to major roadways is also a plus to living in the community.
"This is a quiet community and the location is second to none to quickly get on Bloomingdale Ave., U.S. 301 and Providence Rd.," said Luvinsky. "With easy access to the Crosstown, we have plenty of opportunity to avoid any kind of traffic."
The school district for Bloomingdale Ridge includes Symmes Elementary, Rodgers Middle and Riverview High School. The HOA's annual fee is $492 and includes cable for every resident as well as the maintenance of the common grounds area.
