Are you in the mood for chicken or ribs? Then you have to try Peck's Flame Broiled Chicken in Riverview.
Peck's Flame Broiled Chicken is a local franchise that started in Brandon in 1992 and opened its Riverview location last fall.
What sets this restaurant apart from others is the food’s Greek and Cuban flare. With menu items ranging from plantains, yellow rice and black beans to gyros and baklava there is something for everyone.
The Website states, "Peck's Flame Broiled Chicken is never-frozen, never-battered and never-fried. Chicken is marinated in our own recipe then cooked over a gas-fired broiler, resulting in fewer calories, less fat and less cholesterol."
Owner Steve Leske states, "The majority of our sauces and dressings are homemade."
The recipes are kept a secret and the meat has such a special flavor you won't want any barbeque sauce.
Riverview residents Greg and Anjanette Fluharty eat at Peck's twice a week. Greg likes the relaxed comfortable atmosphere inside the restaurant.
Anjanette states, "The menu has so many choices and I love the authentic Greek items."
Stop in for lunch and order the Eat-in Special: two pieces of dark meat, two side dishes, pita bread and honey butter for only $4.95. This special runs Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Peck's also offers catering services beginning at $6 per person and if you're in a hurry, call in a Family Dinner Deal and pick it up on your way home.
Riverview residents will know the restaurant's location very well as it was formerly Burk 'N Howie's Restaurant before Leske purchased and remodeled the building last year. Years ago, Leske's great grandfather ran a hotel, general store, gas station and post office on the same land.
Peck's Flame Broiled Chicken is located at 8203 U.S. Hwy. 301 S. in Riverview. The restaurant is open Monday-Saturdays from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Visit www.peckschicken.com to view the full menu and call 671-9940 for more information.
