June is a big month for Chick-fil-A, both locally and on a national level. The much-loved fast food chain is celebrating its 40th year in business this summer in July and the Lake Brandon Village location, owned by FishHawk residents Tammy and Paul Holmberg, is celebrating its ninth year in operation.
Started in 1967, Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy turned his dream into a reality and formed a chain of restaurants which are now owned as franchises. From modest beginnings in a tiny Georgia eatery, Chick-fil-A has grown into one of the largest privately owned restaurant chains in the nation, all while remaining closed on Sundays.
According to Holmberg, Chick-fil-A customers are also committed to the chain in return.
"People come to our restaurant 2-3 times a week. We impact a lot of people everyday," says Holmberg, who adds that the store receives 1,800 transactions a day.
In celebration of these two anniversaries, every day the Lake Brandon Village location is open in June, customers will have the chance to win free chicken.
Customers just have to fill-out an entry slip and state what they love about Chick-Fil-A. A winner will be drawn each night and contacted by phone for their prize and also entered for a chance to win the Grand Prize of 40 original chicken sandwiches in honor of Chick-fil-A’s 40 years.
"This means everyone has 26 chances to win," says Holmberg.
On Friday, July 27, Tampa area stores will celebrate with a special price on the Chick-fil-A sandwich. Limit one sandwich per person.
Chick-fil-A of Lake Brandon Village is open Monday-Saturday, 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m. and is located at 11325 Causeway Blvd. in Brandon. For more information, call 655-1237 and to learn more about the corporation, go to www.chickfila.com.
