It is because of people like Dr. Michael Hess that we can walk around with beautiful smiles.
Dr. Hess is the owner and orthodontist of Hess Orthodontics, located at 11970 Boyette Rd. in Riverview, located in the Boyette Executive Park.
Dr. Hess has always had a passion for orthodontics, but few know of his passion for charitable giving. Hess Ortho has recently donated to more than 20 local elementary schools this past June for their end of year celebrations. Each student received a drawstring backpack, fun neon sunglasses and bottled water for their parties and class trips. They are currently organizing a donation to several elementary and middle schools to include much needed school supplies for the 2011-2012 school year.
One of the most well-known endeavors is Hess’ Annual Halloween Candy Buy Back, during which children receive $1 per pound of candy they bring in to the office. The candy is then sent to troops overseas.
Every year, Dr. Hess and all of his team members visit 15 local schools for the Great American Teach In, teaching students about the importance of proper oral hygiene and Orthodontics. “We pride ourselves in our continued involvement with our community,” Hess commented.
In the plans for the Tampa resident and his team of eighteen is a second location in the Apollo Beach area, which will provide all of the same services, utilizing the latest technology in orthodontics, such as the i-Cat 3-D imaging, TADS, the Magic Wand, the Damon Bracket System, Invisalign, and SureSmile.
SureSmile treatment takes less time than traditional braces. There are fewer office visits and less overall discomfort due to fewer wire changes. It starts with a 3-D camera that takes pictures of the patient’s teeth and produces a 3-D model; then on his computer, Dr. Hess moves the teeth in the model to decide the best position for each tooth and then sends out for your prescribed set of custom wires.
Dr. Hess attended the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DDM) and graduated as the valedictorian of his class.
He continued his education at the prestigious University of Michigan and earned his master’s degree in Orthodontics. Dr. Hess received the 2011 Successful Doctors Award and the 2011 Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce People’s Choice Award. They have also been nominated for the 2011 Small Business of the Year Award planned for this October.
