Corks & Forks: Rock of Ages is set to take place poolside at the Campo Y on Saturday, November 12.

Get ready to “rock” the Y at the 2011 Corks and Fork: Rock of Ages set for Saturday, November 12, from 7-10 p.m. poolside at the Campo Y, located at 3414 Culbreath Rd. in Valrico. Corks and Forks 2011 will be a fun filled extravaganza of food, beverages, entertainment and auction items.
Throughout the evening, you can sample food offerings from local favorites such as The Rack, Chili’s and Chef Dave of the Rolling Pin. Pair those fantastic samplings with wine, beer and other beverages. As you stroll about the beautiful pool area at the Campo Y, DJ Mike Sean from Crew Entertainment will take you through the decades playing hits from the 60s to the present. Football fans have no fear, as the big games will be shown courtesy of Rhino Cube.
A fantastic array of auction items will tempt you. Be on the look out for favorites such as signed sports and music memorabilia, great trips and items from local businesses.
Tickets purchased prior to October 30 are $50 ($75 thereafter). Any county or government employee can purchase a ticket for $25 prior to Monday, October 30. Cancer survivors and those currently battling the disease are invited to attend for $25. Sponsorships are available.

Last year over 250 people helped to raise over $30,000. The funds stay in the Brandon area and helps give children and families the chance to experience the Y.  Rick Lewis, Chair of the event said, “Corks and Forks is an outstanding celebration of an outstanding cause. The setting is food, drink and entertainment, but it is a great chance for us to tell the story that for over 160 years the YMCA has been here to support children, family and community. With your generosity, we can be here for another 160 years.”
Christy Lowe, Youth and Family Director for the Campo Y said, “Our Y is celebrating a decade in the Valrico community. I look forward to celebrating our achievements as the Y continues to be the ‘rock’ our community needs us to be!”
This is a 21 and over event. A sleep over ($25) for children ages 5 to 12 is planned at the Brandon Y from 6 p.m.-8 a.m.
