2008 Brandon Idol Teen Division winner Shevonne Philidor is starting to see her dreams come true with the recognition of her talents through a performance on the NBC’s hit show America’s Got Talent and the development of her five-part band, Shevonne and The Bad Boys

There are stars among us. Future talents are growing up in local schools and participating in local competitions in an effort to chase dreams of success, much like 2008 Brandon Idol Teen Division winner Shevonne Philidor.
After auditioning four times without success for American Idol and being rejected twice by NBC’s America’s Got Talent (AGT), Philidor faced the opportunity of a lifetime when she was asked to return to AGT for the wild card round and perform live on national television.
Described by herself as the biggest opportunity of her life, Philidor did not make it back to the AGT stage but did walk away from the experience with motivating feedback. All the judges agreed letting her go in the first round was a mistake and that a voice like hers could have benefitted from the entire AGT experience. Piers Morgan called her voice unusual, distinctive and stated that with more experience in a live environment Philidor could see her dreams come true.
“I always try my best no matter what,” Philidor said of her experiences. Armed with a resume for success and her background as a graduate of Blake High School’s musical theater program, Philidor’s current projects include the start up of a band.
Preferring to sing to live music, Philidor shines during rehearsals with her band. Shevonne and The Bad Boys is a five-part band including Philidor as lead singer and the equally talented and Tampa based counterparts: Matt Walker on guitar, Sam Farmer on drums, Desmond Davidson on the keys and Elliot Dickinson on bass. Rehearsals just wrapped and performances are being scheduled.
“My goals in life are to be a major recording artist and to perform around the world and share my music with everyone,” Philidor explained of her aspirations. A dream, mom Kim Brown is doing her part to make happen. As Philidor explained, “My mom is my manager. She is the most supportive, amazing, caring mom anyone could have.”
