Bryant Martinez, Winthrop Town Artist and organizer of the 4th Annual Winthrop Arts Festival is passionate about fine arts. The Winthrop Arts Festival is a great venue for all residents of the greater Brandon area to see what artists from this community and elsewhere have to offer.

The 4th Annual Winthrop Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Winthrop Town Centre located at the intersection of Providence Rd. and Bloomingdale Rd. in Riverview in front of the Times Building.

This fine arts festival has become an event that the whole community looks forward to each year. The festival includes fine artists, student led entertainment, a children’s activity tent, and business and nonprofit booths. Attendees will be able to see and purchase a variety of fine art including weaving, pottery, sculptures, paintings (all media and mixed media), glass and photography. Artists from all over, including some from North Carolina, Atlanta and Orlando as well as many local residents will be showing their art.

This is a juried show and all art entered will be judged by two well known and respected judges- Vilias Tonape of Polk College of Fine Art and John Hardin with Hillsborough Community College. Awards for Best of Show, First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention will be presented on Saturday afternoon.

According to festival organizer and Winthrop Town Artist, Bryant Martinez, “This festival brings fine art to the Brandon area and allows residents to meet and mingle with the artists who live outside of the area as well as those who are members of the community.” Martinez added, “One of the artists who will be at the festival is an art teacher at Riverview High School. You have to come out and see all of the talented artists and their fine art on display.”

This year’s festival will also host the second Brandon area Food Truck Rally. According to Martinez, “There will be six food trucks on location for each of the two days.” Local favorite, The Italian Kitchen will also be on hand to tantalize your pallet.

In addition to fine art and good food, the children’s activity tent will offer art activities. Children will have the opportunity to make and keep a festival t-shirt.
