With the flowers blooming and the warm breezes blowing, this can only mean St. Stephen’s Catholic Church’s annual Spring Jubilee is right around the corner. The festival is celebrating its 11th year of bringing food, fun and family-oriented entertainment to the community.

This time-honored tradition brings in thousands of families from Hillsborough County every year to enjoy the live entertainment, amazing midway rides and games, and a wide selection of fabulous food booths to please everyone in the family. Last year, more than 25,000 people attended the jubilee.

The proceeds raised by St. Stephen’s Spring Jubilee are donated to community charities throughout the area. So, not only can you have family-friendly fun, but it all goes to a good cause. Over the past several years, this event has raised more than $40,000.

Gene Batronie, Jubilee director, is excited about this year’s event. “I enjoy the involvement this event brings to the community,” said Batronie. “We are keeping the prices the same as every year and we are proud to make this a family-affordable event.”

Attendees can purchase wristbands for the carnival rides for $17 in advance or $20 the day of the event.  New to the jubilee this year is a military appreciation day with discounted armbands and food. Also new is a pirate treasure hunt for the younger family members. “During the pirate treasure hunt,  kids will hunt for all kinds of prizes including tickets to Disney World,” said Batronie. There will also be raffle tickets sold for prizes that include $2,500 cash, 50-inch screen television, passes to SeaWorld and a $500 gift certificate for a King Limousine ride.

Some of the live entertainment and contests include a variety show, local dance studio demonstrations, St. Stephen’s Idol and live music provided by the bands, Luna Blue and XChange Band.

The Jubilee is located at 10428 Saint Stephen’s Cir. in Riverview, along Boyette Road, adjacent to the school. There will be courtesy trams from the parking lot to the event. Admission and parking is free.  The Jubilee takes place from
Thursday, April 19-Sunday, April 22. For more information on exact times, entertainment and contests, please visit www.springjubilee.com.
