Shannon Rose, ‘Mr. Hollywood’ is hosting weekly acting workshops to train actors and extras how to get parts.

With movie crews looking to S.E. Hillsborough County as a great site to film movies, commercials and independent films, more and more local residents are having the opportunity to be cast as actors and extras for these opportunities.

A longtime resident and Tampa native, Shannon Rose, ‘Mr. Hollywood’, the owner of Eclectic Media Productions and the syndicated Rose Report, has now launched Rose Casting Company and is seeking actors and extras for local casting calls.

“I have a very successful public relations and marketing firm,” said Rose. “And, with the new casting company, I have the opportunity to put people to work.”

New to acting? That’s okay. Rose hosts a weekly actor’s workshop to gives actors and extras the opportunity to work with him and learn how to memorize lines, how to appear on camera and how to act during an on camera interview.

In addition to running a successful PR firm and owning a casting company, Rose stays busy with the Rose Hollywood Report and appears on more than 20 local and national radio shows per week. He is also well known in the wrestling circuit as an announcer and even appeared as a character and announcer on the EA Sports MMA video game.

With a large client list of published authors, expert advisors and wrestling personalities, a successful business and a new casting company to run, Rose is also a national spokesperson for a disease he has suffered from since childhood.

“I am the National Spokesperson for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome,” added Rose. “I enjoy giving back, getting involved and fighting for my life. I will never give up.” EDS is a connective tissue disorder which affects muscle control and has put Rose in the hospital three times in the last year.

When he was 12 years-old, Rose was granted a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which put him in the ring as an announcer with Hulk Hogan and Dusty Rhodes and spurred his interest in announcing.
