Live music is a feature at the upcoming Crawfish Fest in FishHawk’s Park Square.

After the success of last year’s Crawfish Festival, The Rotary Club of FishHawk/Riverview is going to do it again. The Second Annual Crawfish Festival will be held on Saturday, May 12, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Park Square in FishHawk Ranch.

Bring the family for a crawfish feast, live Cajun music and plenty of activities for the kids while raising money for local charities and scholarships.

Alyssa Clayton of Lithia attended the Crawfish Festival last year with her husband and some friends and plans to attend this year as well. A graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, she says it is a special treat that brings her back to her college days. “It is a lot of fun and a lot of food,” she commented.

Park Square, the backdrop for the event, features a broad lawn, dancing fountains, an outdoor living room and more.

Tickets must be purchased by Saturday, May 5, for the crawfish meal which includes two to three pounds of crawfish, corn and potatoes, shipped live from Louisiana and cooked on-site.

Kids are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for a free hot dog.

Sponsorships, donations and assistance in ticket sales are welcome as all of the money raised will be donated to local charities and scholarship funds.

The Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview meets Mondays at 12 Noon at Beef O Brady’s, located at 4330 Bell Shoals Rd. For more information, visit www.FishhawkRiverviewRotary.org or call 672-3687.
