Come out and see talented local singers perform at the 2012 Momentum Festival, which features Brandon Idol Teen and Brandon Idol, the Adults with contestants such as Kathy Matthews, who sang Because You Loved Me at last year’s event. This musical festival is set for Saturday, September 29. Proceeds benefit the Brandon Family Y.

The 12th Annual Momentum Festival with Brandon Idol will be held on Saturday, September 29. This exciting and fun filled event, known as “Music, Arts, Entertainment- Served Fried on a Stick,” will take place at800 Centennial Lodge Dr.(The Brandon Elks Lodge) in Brandon.

Brandon Idol Teen will take place at 1 p.m. Brandon Idol, the Adults will take place at 7 p.m. Tickets can be obtained at The Club House Sports Café, located at 1265 Kingsway Rd. inBrandon. Brandon Idol Teen tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 18. Checks should be made payable to Brandon Family Y. Tickets to Brandon Idol, the Adults are $25 and checks should be made payable to Momentum Festival, Inc.

At these two shows, you never know that might hear. Talented singers from all over the greaterBrandonarea will perform songs from all genre including Rock N Roll, Pop, Country and Western, Christian and Broadway. This festival showcases the area’s best singers and performers.

Brandon Idol Teen is a serious and playful vocal competition which is great for both new performers as well as the more experienced singer. It is an opportunity for either the beginner entertainer or the more experience entertainer to sing before a crowd using a top notch sound system.

Brandon Idol, the Adults likewise offers the area’s talented performers a chance to shine in front of an audience. The winner of Brandon Idol, the Adults receives not only the adulation of the crowd, but he or she is also given the Grand Prize of $500.

The Momentum Festival with Brandon Idol benefits the Brandon Family Y and their Give a Kid a Chance Campaign. The Y offers financial assistance so that all kids have the opportunity to enjoy fun filled childhood memories at summer day camp. The Momentum Festival started in 2001 as part of Arlene Waldron’s campaign for the Honorary Mayor of Brandon race. Over the years it has grown into a much anticipated annual event where everyone has fun.
