Three times a year, the Christian-based networking group Christian Business Connections (CBC) hosts the Brandon Prayer Breakfast. This is a great opportunity for all Christian business people to come together and listen to an inspirational message, pray for the community and network with other Christian business people in a way that honors God.

The Brandon Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Monday, October 22, at Bell Shoals Baptist Church from 8-10 a.m. The title sponsor for the breakfast is Moody Radio. The CBC is looking for additional sponsors. Silver sponsors ($150) will receive a table for eight and recognition at the event.  Friendship sponsors ($50) will receive two tickets and will be highlighted on printed material.

This year’s special guest speaker is Rachel Burgin. Burgin was elected in 2008 and serves District 56 in the House of Representatives in Florida. Her district includes parts of Tampa, Riverview and several other areas in Hillsborough County.

Burgin was born in Brandon and raised in Plant City and is the third of seven children. An evangelical Christian, Burgin is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, where she majored in Biblical Studies. She is a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Realtor, CBC member and Vice President of the Brandon Chapter, Kathy Shalosky, has attended the prayer breakfasts regularly. “The quarterly prayer breakfasts are a wonderful opportunity for people in the  community to come together and hear how Christian professionals from around the country have built their businesses and careers,” said Shalosky. “We’ve had a very diverse group of speakers over the years and each one has brought insight and hope by sharing their experiences of success and failure and how their faith has impacted their lives and their professions. ”

Christian Business Connections focus on helping each other’s businesses prosper by networking, sharing ideas and business practices. The Brandon chapter meets at Mimi’s Café in Brandon every Monday at 7:45- 9- a.m.
