Staff Report

RobZFitness is excited to offer An Evening of Yoga on Friday, October 19, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at its newly opened aerobic studio, located at 3438 Lithia Pinecrest.

“I can’t think of a single person in the entire world who would not benefit from some aspect of a yoga program,” said Jean Martin, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) Yoga Certified Instructor at RobZFitness. Both Martin and Monica Wieruszewski, also RYT 200-hour certified, will be teaching 20 minute sessions in Restorative, Hatha, Flow, Yoga for Athletes, and Deep Relaxation (an integral part of any yoga practice.)  Participants may engage in one or all five of the sessions.

Wieruszewski completed her 200-hour Vinyassa Flow Training with Frog Lotus International.  She studied with Vidya Heisel in Costa Rica. Yoga has been a part of her life for 10 years and she said that yoga helped her grow “stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat.”

Martin completed her 200-hour Hatha Training at The Lotus Pond in Tampa under the guidance of Val Spies, owner and 500-hour RYT and Master teacher, Karin Stephan, who trained under B.K.S. Iynegar, and is the director of the Lotus Pond training program.  Practicing for nearly 10 years now, what began as a hobby has turned into a lifelong passion. “I have reaped the benefits of body alignment and improved health, and I so want to pass along the healing benefits of mind and body through the practices of yoga to as many people as I can in the community.”

Martin also participated in Yoga for Cancer Patients at the Moffitt Cancer Center and is a teacher at Newsome High School.

Both Wieruszewski and Martin are committed to and challenged by the idea of making yoga more accessible to all abilities, ages and interests.  “My hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced,” said Monica.

Please stop by RobZFitness to purchase tickets. Advance tickets will be $10.  You may also purchase a ticket the night of the event for $12.
