Recognized during the 31st Annual Gala in October, The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce congratulates the area businesses that have been named 2012 Small Business of the Year Award winners. Nearly 300 guests celebrated the winners inside the Sheraton Tampa East Hotel’s Grande Ballroom. The winners were:

Home Based Business – Morningstar Electric, LLC

Minority and Woman Owned Business – Tutoring Club

1-5 Employees – Ivey Carpet and Flooring

6-15 Employees – COX Electric

16+ Employees – Ed Morse Cadillac of Brandon

Annually, this awards gala recognizes and honors small businesses within the Greater Brandon area that have demonstrated leadership, positive growth and development, creativity, and integrity in operating a business, as well as a commitment to community services.

The 2012 event is the 31st annual celebration of local businesses that featured an innovative theme and program including a video tribute to the 15 finalists and past winners.

The event’s Twitter hash tag, #brsmallbiz generated tremendous social media anticipation, excitement and buzz prior, during and after the event. Hundreds of Tweets supporting the event, its sponsors, finalists and winners “flew” throughout the internet.

The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 Small Business of the Year Award Gala was sponsored by The Bank of Tampa. Additional sponsors included Hanna, Lemar & Morris, C.P.A.’s, P.A., Tampa Bay Times, Coventry Health Care of Florida and Celestar Corporation.
