,A community Christmas Eve Service will be hosted by Fishhawk Fellowship Church on Monday, December 24 from 4-5:30 p.m. This Service will be held at the Newsome High School football stadium.

Newsome High School Football Field was chosen so they could gather the entire church and invite family, neighbors, friends and the community in one celebration. In the past up to three Christmas Eve services were held back to back.

The service will feature live worship and a special choir.  Senior Pastor David Whitten will share a message of hope.

Pastor Whitten said, “Our church is excited about this opportunity and our prayer is that many will attend and be encouraged by the entire service.”

With over 1,300 church members, they have not been able to worship together for the past five years because they have out-grown their current worship center. If some folks don’t feel comfortable going to a service at a church, the hope is that having the services at the Stadium will hopefully encourage many from the community who wouldn’t normally attend, to join them. The stadium seats up to 3,000 people and that will allow plenty of space for all .

There will be a special choir just for this service. Communion will take place at the end of the service, which is a tradition at Fishhawk Fellowship. Currently, four identical worship services take place each Sunday at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Fishhawk Fellowship’s DivorceCare group will be holding a “Surviving the Holidays” event on Monday, December 3 from 3-4:30 p.m. and on Monday, December 17, the GriefShare group will hold a seminar. There is no fee and childcare will be provided. ‘Surviving the Holidays’ is a warm, encouraging and helpful event. Featuring video and group discussion, it helps deal with the intense pain of separation and divorce during the holiday season.
