If you love to cook on a grill, you just might by an “Egghead.” If you are, or think you might be, or you just like grilled food, then come to the 3rd Annual Big Green Egg Fest hosted by the Rutledge family, the owners of the FishHawk Pinch-A-Penny located at 16715 FishHawk Blvd. in the Sweet Bay Plaza. The Egg Fest is set for Sunday, March 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What exactly is a Big Green Egg Fest?  According to Jimmy Rutledge, “It is an opportunity to celebrate the Big Green Egg.” Attendees at the Egg Fest will get to feast on a variety of foods cooked on the Big Green Egg. This includes chicken, corn, pulled pork and poppers. And what would St. Patrick’s Day be without corned beef?

If you have ever wanted to own a Big Green Egg, now is the time. FishHawk Pinch-A-Penny is offering a deal for those who pre-buy their Big Green Egg now through Saturday, March 16. If you take advantage of this offer, you will get accessories such as an egg plate setter, box of starter, charcoal and nest for the egg (stand).

This year’s Egg Fest will take on special meaning as 100 percent of all funds raised in a raffle for a new pool cleaner (you do not have to be present to win) or donations made at the event will benefit Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that provides services such as scholarship programs, family services and financial assistance to wounded Special Operations Forces personnel.

This organization was chosen, according to Larry Rutledge because, “We have a lot of military families in our area, and it is a great organization.” So come out and have fun, taste some delicious food and help support a very worthy organization with any donation that you can make.

The Rutledge family want to make this 3rd Annual Big Green Egg Fest a true festival complete with a band, snow cones and more.
