For the first time, the Fishhawk Ranch Homeowner’s Association is sponsoring a home improvement exposition to its residents.  The Beautify Fishhawk Ranch Expo was created to encourage homeowners to help Fishhawk look its best.  The exposition is set to premiere at Park Square on Saturday, March 9, with a second at the same location on Saturday, April 13.  Hours of operation for both are 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

According to Susan Parvin, the Assistant Event Coordinator for Fishhawk Ranch Resident Services and Expo Manger for the event, this will benefit both residents and local businesses.  “We are bringing local contractors and residents together for a ‘one stop’ shopping experience where residents can meet with various local contractors. Businesses are invited to participate free of charge in exchange for providing residents with a 10% discount,” says Parvin.  In addition, a vendor will be on hand serving a variety of hot food dishes such as breakfast sandwiches, cheese steaks, burgers as well as soft drinks.

Vendors in the following categories are encouraged to take part in the event:  Landscaping, mulching, curbing, pressure washing, exterior house painters, fencing, irrigation, mailbox repair/painting, sodding, pools, lanais, screening and sunrooms.  There is no cost for businesses to participate, but they are being asked to offer residents a 10% discount on services.  All participating businesses are required to be licensed and insured in the state of Florida.

Parvin calls it “one-stop shopping at a discount,” adding that it’s a “great way for residents to connect with local business to make exterior home/lawn improvements and at a discount exclusive to FishHawk residents.”  Spring is the time for renewal and the expo is an opportunity to find the right resources to start or finish that home improvement project that has been on hold.

Businesses who are interested in participating for either event date can call Susan Parvin or Jenny Carle at 657-6629 for further information and applications.  The deadline to apply to be a vendor for the March 9 expo is Wednesday, March 6 and there is no set deadline for the Saturday, April 13 expo.
