April in Riverview has become synonymous with the St. Stephen Spring Jubilee.  With music, dancing, rides and food galore, it’s no wonder this fair attracts thousands of people each year.  The Spring Jubilee is now in its 12th year and it has become bigger and better each year.

Admission is free and so is the entertainment.  As always, St. Stephen has a full entertainment venue with several area dance groups, bands and other variety shows.  Tampa’s Luna Blue Band and Ryan Hughes and “The To Be Determined Band” will be the feature bands. A full list of the times and acts can be found on the Jubilee website at www.springjubilee.com.

The midway will be packed full with rides to thrill every age and of course, plenty of games.  Be sure to visit the Big Tent for a wide variety of food items, including Mexican, Latin, BBQ, and N’awlins. There will also be plenty of traditional carnival fare such as corn dogs and funnel cakes available.

The festival is more than just four days of fun however; it is also a huge fundraiser for St. Stephen.  “Proceeds from the Jubilee are used for equipment and day to day running of our beautiful school and for our Faith Formation program for the children who do not attend St. Stephen School,” says Jubilee Director, Sam Ross.

The Jubilee is offering a Military Day on Sunday, April 14.  “Our special Military Day provides families with a special day where we honor all our military serving our country.  The attendance at this special day is growing each year with so many active military living in our area,” Ross shares. Active military families are offered a discount on wristbands (rides) and $20 worth of food coupons for use on that day.

The Jubilee goes for four days from Thursday, April 11 until Sunday, April 14 and is located on the property of St. Stephen School at 10428 Saint Stephen Cir. in Riverview.  Times and additional information can be found on the jubilee website. Wristbands can be purchased in advance of the event for $17 each or $20 or at the Ride Ticket Booth at the event. Mega passes are also available for $50.

The event is a huge undertaking, attracting more than 25,000 visitors so sponsors and volunteers are a critical part to ensuring its success.  For more information on how to volunteer or become a sponsor, please visit the Jubilee website or contact the school at 689-4900 ext 311. Up to date information can also be found on the Jubilee’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/SpringJubilee.
