On Saturday, April 6, the GFWC Brandon Service League held its 28th Annual Spring Fundraiser at the Fraternal Order of Police Hall in Seffner. This event is a celebration of fellowship and service to the community. In addition to raising funds, the dinner is the time when the GFWC Brandon Service League honors its 2012 Holiday Home Tour Charities and presents checks to the non-profits.

The organizations who received checks from the GFWC Brandon Service League this year included Boys & Girls Club of Brandon; Brandon Outreach Clinic; ECHO; Life Care Center of Brandon; New Horizons Group Homes, Inc.; Brandon Women’s Resource Center and San Jose Home Makers.

Many of the organizations have been supported by the GFWC Brandon Service League for many years. This year, San Jose Home Makers. GFWC Brandon Service League President, Diane Forester said, “The new organization, San Jose Home Makers, is a reasonably new organization in our area. We were impressed with its goal and decided to include it in our charitable donations.”

Forester added, “We still have several organizations that will be receiving donations from our Holiday Home Tour profits. These include six local high school art departments, Southeastern Guide Dogs and R.O.C.K. Camp.”

The money that the club generously donates is raised through ticket sales to the GFWC Brandon Service League’s Holiday Home Tour, which is held each December. In addition to touring homes that have been beautifully decorated for the holidays, attendees can purchase gourmet baked goods and opportunity baskets. The Holiday Home Tour is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
