For five years, Angie Frazier and Kendall Duncan, owners of Canine Cabana, have been providing dogs in the greater Brandon area with a place where they can be happy, healthy and safe. These are the three words upon which they built their successful business.

When Canine Cabana opened, Frazier and Duncan filled a need in the community. “We are not just a kennel. We are here to make sure that all dogs are happy, healthy and safe. Canine Cabana is more than just a place to stay. If a dog is stressed, we try to find an activity that will alleviate the stress,” said Frazier.

Frazier and Duncan bought the one-acre property and designed the facility. They have grown over the years by adding 78 new lodging spaces for all size dogs. They have also added training and behavioral consultation.

At Canine Cabana, dogs are given a full behavioral assessment. “We do this to get to know them and make sure they are comfortable,” said Duncan. “We introduce them to other dogs to see what they like and dislike,” added Duncan.

Both Frazier and Duncan draw upon their vast experience and knowledge having worked at Busch Gardens for a combined 20 years. They have worked hard to make Canine Cabana the premiere dog lodging and daycare in the area. Canine Cabana is endorsed by the world famous, Jack Hanna, who both Frazier and Duncan personally know from their days at Busch Gardens.

The five-year celebration will take place during the week of May 13. Canine Cabana’s two-legged customers will receive treats and be eligible to win a variety of prizes including a 20-day daycare package, 10-day daycare package, a VIP weekend stay and a 12-pack of premium bathing services.

Frazier and Duncan are both civic-minded and give back to the community in many ways. Frazier and Duncan have sent over 500 pounds of supplies to Military Working Dogs and their handlers serving overseas. They also host monthly events which benefit Military Working Dogs, C.A.R.E. and A Kid’s Place.

If all of that is not enough, Frazier and Duncan will be acting as Guardians on the next Honor Flight which will take place on May 7.

Canine Cabana is located at 9708 Carr Rd. in Riverview. For more information, please visit www.caninecabana.biz or call 672-WOOF (9663).
