One way that Life Church at FishHawk invests in its community is by hosting a Back-To-School Bash every summer on the church grounds. With more than 300 people in attendance last year, Life Church has some big things planned for its seventh annual bash on Saturday, August 3.

The Back-To-School Bash is “Kidz Life” Director and Pastor’s wife, Kim Broom’s yearly mission at the church. “I remember as a little girl getting new supplies for school. Kid’s light up at that,” shared Broom.

Broom has secured some great activities and giveaways with the help of church members and others in the community for this year’s event, including coupons for free haircuts at David Andrews Hair Studio in Lithia and Shear Expressions in Plant City, school physicals (no immunizations) by a local physician, food, bounce house and, of course, school supply giveaways.

“Our goal is that everyone will leave with school supplies,” said Broom. The only requirements are that parents bring their own forms for the physicals if possible, and students receiving school supplies be present at the event.

A special appearance by Omega-Man, one of the top anti-bullying and character-building assemblies in the nation, is scheduled for this year’s bash. Omega-Man’s theme is “Be a H.E.R.O. – Helping Everyone Respect Others.”

Life Church at FishHawk is accepting donations of school supplies up until the event. For details on how and what to donate, contact Kim Broom at 863-797-6729. The Back-To-School Bash is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the church, located at 6420 Lithia Pinecrest Rd.
