From an early age, Martha O’ Sullivan, author of the brand new romance trilogy, Chances, has had a love affair with books.

Growing up in Chicago as an only child and spending her free time looking for something new to read, she always seemed enticed by the collection of romance novels.

“The books took me to places all over the world where effortlessly beautiful, long-suffering heroines were swept off their feet by irresistible alpha heroes. I preferred the books to the afternoon soaps because I could imagine the characters in my minds eye, and if I found the ending disappointing or abrupt, I would simply continue the story in my head,” says Martha.

Now a resident of FishHawk as well as a wife and mother, her aspirations to write have finally culminated.

About five years ago she started writing. A self-proclaimed “pantster,” one, who sits down without an established plan, starts writing and lets the story be the guide. She took her first step to writing the series with nothing more than an idea and a conclusion.

The Chances series is set in Lake Tahoe, Northern Nevada, and California, where she says a little piece of her heart resides, even after three decades.

She experienced California for the first time at age 15 and that’s when her infatuation began. “I hope my books will take you there, and you’ll leave a little piece of yours behind too.”

The first book in the Chances trilogy, called Second Chance, is set for release on Sunday, September 1.

The second, entitled Chance Encounter, will be available Tuesday, October 1 and the final installment called, Last Chance, on Friday, November 1.

All books will be available online at Red Sage Publishing.

O’Sullivan has plans to continue writing in the near future and has already been thinking about developing a book set in Florida.
