On Saturday, November 2, Center Place and the Brandon League of Fine Arts will join forces to present the 7th Annual Chalk Walk & Art Fest and the 3rd Annual Indoor Outdoor Art Fest. This is a fantastic day of art for the whole family at Center Place of Brandon.

Both events are free, but tickets are needed for the Chalk Walk, which is a special celebration of the arts for children ages three and up. The Brandon League of Fine ArtsĀ  Indoor Outdoor Art Fest will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both inside and outside of Center Place. The Art Fest is open to members and non-members. According to chairperson, Doreen Donavan, “This event gives artists a chance to show and sell their artwork.” Proceeds from entry fees are used to fund the BLFA High School Scholarship Fund which is given to graduating high school seniors who wish to pursue a fine art education.

Chalk Walk will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. around the lake next to Center Place. Outside, members of the BLFA will have different activities for the community to participate in including face painting, large canvas mural, collage, sand art and beading. Children will receive a box from Chick-fil-A (courtesy of Paul and Tammy Holmberg) that contains chalk, coupons and other goodies from area businesses.

“Center Place supports having both of these events on the same day because there is something for everyone,” said Dianna Galia, Public Relations Coordinator for Center Place. Galia added, “Not only do the children get an opportunity to be creative and be outside with family and friends, but parents and residents get an opportunity to see and purchase artwork from local artists. It is a great event that brings everyone together.” Center Place is located at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon and is available to all residents of the greater Brandon area. They offer a wide array of art classes, children’s theatre, dinner theatre and many more performances and events. For more information on Center Place, please visit www.centerplacebrandon.org.
