“Ab Gymnic,” “The Air Curler,” “The Boom Cube,” and “The Amazing Candle” are just some of the hot must-have items that can be found in the As Seen on T.V. Store at Westfield Brandon Mall. The store re-located to the center of the mall next to Hot Top near the food court this past August so that the store would have more of a visible presence in the mall and more accessible for its customers. The old store, which was located in the new wing of the mall, was 1900 sq. ft. and the new location is now 800 sq. ft. Merchandising a smaller store was a challenge for store owner, Sandra McCreery, but she loved it. “It was a challenge and we had to let go of some things but we focused more on what are best sellers are and what we feel our customers would want in our store,” McCreery said.
McCreery and her family are originally from North Carolina and they moved to Tampa five years ago. Her family suggested to her and her husband that opening the store would be a great business venture for them. Since she had more than 15 years customer service experience, being a store owner seemed to be a perfect fit. “I was looking for something more stable, so I decided to go for it,” McCreery said. The store has been part of the Brandon community for over four years now and McCreery loves that her store has gotten more traffic since the move. “It’s been increasing even with back-to-school and I expect it to pick up more has the holidays get closer,” McCreery said. What a lot of people don’t know about the As Seen on T.V. Stores is that they are not franchises; they are individually owned and operated. She recently opened another store at Tyrone Mall in St. Pete.
McCreery loves that her store has been a part of the Brandon community and she strongly believes in shopping and supporting local. One of the products that she carries in her store is called “The Ultimate Cookie Dipper” and it was created by a young man from the Brandon area. Some of McCreery’s favorite products that she carries in her store are the “Eagle Eye Sunglasses” and “The Pack It Freezable Lunch Bag.” She is currently working on getting some new items in for the Christmas holidays. “We always look for great stocking stuffers,” McCreery said.
