Does your child need a boost or assistance with core classes such as math, reading and writing? Would your child like to gain insight and solidify a better score on either the ACT or the SAT? Then have them evaluated at Grade Power Learning located at 3212 Lithia Pinecrest Rd. (in the Oaks Plaza) in Valrico.

Grade Power Learning is owned and operated by Andrew Learned, a local resident who grew up in the area and graduated from the University of Tampa. Learned is also a veteran of the United States Navy.

Because Learned is a hands-on owner who is present at the center during operating hours and is available to all, you can be assured that questions and concerns will be answered. Learned said, “Grade Power offers a distinct individualized program for each student. We look at the student’s planner every time they come in and have individual meetings with parents every 13 weeks.” Because it is all about success in the classroom, Learned said, “We do everything we can to give students the tools they need to succeed.”

This individual approach is what sets Grade Power Learning apart. Each student is thoroughly assessed with both a cognitive assessment and an academic placement test before the first session. The evaluations look at the child’s personal learning skills and aptitude. The evaluations are reviewed by experts and then a plan is set up which pinpoints specific areas of need.

Grade Power Learning teaches children how to organize new information so that it makes sense. It is not about memorizing facts, but more about understanding concepts and learning how to process the information. Grade Power Learning gives students a solid foundation and shows them how to be an independent learner who is better equipped to take information in and retain it.

Grade Power Learning offers a school readiness program with its Little Readers’ Program designed for three to six-year-olds. “We say three-year-olds can read,” said Learned. It also offers core tutoring (math, reading and writing) for children in grades one through 12. SAT and ACT test preparation is also offered.
