Music Showcase and the Florida Academy of Performing Arts in Brandon have an exciting lineup of workshops and classes. There is something for everyone regardless of your age so long as you have a yearning to learn about music, theater, photography and more.

Debbie Evans of Music Showcase said, “We offer programs for young children as they are starting to gain a love of music and for older students who want to continue their love of learning music, theatre, singing and performing.”

Rising stars can learn about all different types of acting in the Young Actors Workshop. This is for ages seven and up and takes place on Saturdays from 10 a.m.- 12 Noon. The first session runs through Saturday, March 8. The second session starts Saturday, March 22. The cost is $150 per session.

On the second Saturday of each month (March through May) from 9:30-11a.m., children ages four to 10 can attend a free Music Makers workshop.

For three to four-year-old children who love to sing, act and dance, sign up for Tot-Time Theatre on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Session one runs through Wednesday, March 5 and the second sessions begins on Wednesday, April 2. Cost is $100 per session.

Professional photographer, Charlena Beacom, will teach students about lighting, positioning subjects, shooting sports games and more in a Digital Photography Class. Beginner classes are on Tuesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The first session runs through Tuesday, March 4, and the second session begins on Tuesday, April 1. Advanced classes are held on Wednesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The first session runs through Wednesday, March 5, and the second session begins on Wednesday, April 2. Each session costs $160.

Aspiring songwriters can take a workshop with singer/songwriter Daira, a contemporary Christian artist, who will teach writing original tunes and lyrics. The workshop is on Friday, March 7 from 6-8 p.m. Cost is just $50 per student. All classes are held at Music Showcase located at 402 Oakfield Dr. in Brandon.
