chatnchew (1)Most men honor their special someone’s milestone birthday with a piece of jewelry or a weekend getaway.

Henry Badcock decided to go over the top to celebrate his lady, Dang Williamson’s 50th birthday. He constructed an entire events facility for his sweetie.

“It started out as a place where we could have family gatherings and company get-togethers (he is part-owner of Badcock Furniture) but we both decided that this place is so unique that we should rent it out,” said Badcock.

Located south of C.R. 39 at 8534 Lithia Pinecrest Rd., Chat and Chew Hank’s Dang Good is located on Badcock’s more than 70 acre-property and nestled between shady oaks that serve as the perfect backdrop for small intimate gatherings or large grandiose productions.

The more than 3,000 sq. ft. of air-conditioned space, decorated in a rustic theme reminiscent of an upscale lodge, chatnchew2features seating for 75 people, a complete kitchen with gas and electric appliances, audio visual equipment, a bar, sofa seating and a large screened patio. The space can be rented for $150 per hour with a three-hour minimum (use of the audio equipment is an additional cost).

For larger gatherings, a pole barn can be rented for an additional $500. Ample parking is also available. Catering is not offered, however Badcock and Williamson said they can suggest a few good local caterers.

Williamson says they have hosted parties of up to 400 guests and have sponsored charity functions benefiting A Kid’s Place and One World, One Child.

“This venue really offers a lot of space and I like seeing people happy and having fun,” said Williamson.

FishHawk resident, Brett Milligan, hosted his daughter’s graduation party at Chat N’ Chew Hank’s Dang Good. Everyone was happy with the event space, from the 150 guests to the caterer, who thought the kitchen was top-notch. When he ran out of ice, Williamson graciously offered ice from her commercial ice machine.

“It was one of the coolest places where I’ve ever hosted a party,” he said. “It’s really a unique venue.”
