Rev ice creamThe Revolution Ice Cream Co. has never been your typical ice cream parlor. Opening last spring in Brandon, the unique concept teases your taste buds with new flavors, a cozy atmosphere and a great new concept in ice cream.

Owned by husband and wife team and Bloomingdale residents, Bill and Leslee Workman, The Revolution Ice Cream Co. has put its mark on the community with its delightful ice cream combinations. Leslee is the mastermind graphic designer with a great sense for color and art and adds contemporary looks to the local shop.

Now, the pair, parents to four children, is taking their show on the road with a Revolution Ice Cream Truck to attend local and state events and share their unique concept throughout the community.

“We have had many people ask us to open another shop closer to their community,” said Leslee, “So the best way to get The Rev to the masses is with a truck.”

In fact, in keeping with the unique concept, backers, for as little as a $5 contribution, had the opportunity to pledge money in support of Revolution’s mobile idea on kickstarter.com. A goal of $13,500 was needed in order for them to receive the money. The goal was not only met, but when all was said and done, a total of $14,157 was raised.

All donators will have their name permanently inscribed on the side of The Rev Ice Cream Truck.

The Revolution Ice Cream Co. is located at 220 Brandon Blvd. in the plaza near Next Level Printing and just after Parsons Ave.

A few of the unique flavors include Curried Sky-Curried Toasted Coconut in homemade Vanilla Bean ice cream, or the Chocolate Habanera with rich Chocolate Ice Cream infused with Habaneras giving a light but lingering heat or the Porky’s Delight Vanilla ice Cream blended with crushed bacon brittle.
