Zach Tucker_golf 2013 020It has been eight years since a cancerous brain tumor tragically claimed the life of Zach Tucker.  After his passing, Zach’s family and friends had a desire to bring hope to families who were facing pediatric cancer. That desire grew into the Giving Hope through Faith Foundation.

To date, the foundation has raised over $715,000 and provided financial and spiritual support to over 400 families.

“It has been an amazing journey,” stated Sherry Tucker, one of the founders.  “We continue to be humbled by the support we have received all because of one sweet boy who left us way too soon and the impact he left on many hearts.”

Seeing how important the financial support is to the cancer families, the Board of the Foundation has set its sights on reaching a $1,000,000 milestone in its fundraising. To this end, it has kicked off its new “March to a Million” campaign and would like everyone to join them in achieving this goal.

“To know Zach’s life was the catalyst for bringing this good to these families in need is gratifying to us. To think that over a million dollars could be generated is beyond what our initial expectations could have ever imagined,” said Tucker.

There are a number of ways you can help. The next big event the foundation is hosting is the Ninth Annual Zach Zach Tucker_Giving Hope logoTucker Golf Scramble at River Hills Country Club, located at 3943 New River Hills Pkwy. in Valrico on Friday, May 9.  Registration will start at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start will be at 1 p.m.

“This year the scramble is on the eighth anniversary of Zach’s passing. It will be a very special day for all of us and we want to make the event the biggest ever.”
