Each month, Center Place celebrates the talent of local artists and artisans by showcasing their work at an artist’s exhibit. During the month of April, Center Place is hosting the Annual Adult Student Art Show. The annual show is sponsored by the Brandon League of Fine Arts and is held as a celebration of the accomplishments of the student artists. The artwork will be on display at Center Place located at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon through the end of April.

Talented local professional artists teach aspiring artists at classes held at Center Place. The classes range from beginner to intermediate. The instructors bring their talent and years of experience to each class making the classes informative, instructional and interesting. Cost for the classes range in price per month, and the classes are held at different times throughout the month.

The Adult Student Art Show is not judged. Students are simply given the opportunity to show their artwork in a gallery setting. The 2014 exhibit features 32 pieces of diverse artwork. The Center Place art instructors whose artwork is exhibited include Sue Allen (watercolor), Meletha Everette (watercolor), Judy Johnson (oil), Debra Bryant (oil), Tim Mandese (graphite), Doreen Donovan (watercolor) and Greg Manley (multi-media).

Dawn Galia, Executive Director for Center Place said, “This is an open show for all adult art students at Center Place. We are proud of their work and we like to give the community an opportunity to see the students’ accomplishments.”

Galia added, “It is great that this show is held during the month of April because it is up at the time when we have our Annual Art Gala. This gives our donors and sponsors a chance to see the students’ work as well.”
