JustCutslogoWhen FishHawk resident Lloyd Grable needs a haircut, he turns to the stylists at Just Cuts for Guys, a new men’s-only salon in FishHawk Ranch.

Located at 16311 FishHawk Blvd. in The Shoppes at FishHawk Ranch, Just Cuts for Guys is the brainchild of FishHawk resident and stylist Dawn Van Sant who wanted to create a new-concept hair salon for men that was neither seedy barbershop nor metrosexual men’s salon.

The shop’s decor exudes masculinity with slate-colored floor tile, dark safari-colored walls and wall-mounted flat screen televisions at each station.

Grable initially visited the shop because of its close proximity to his home, but he returns because of the personalized service he receives and the fact it’s not a chain salon.

“I try to support locally owned businesses in our community,” said Grable.

Van Sant, who has been cutting hair for more than 11 years, said she is seeing a lot of repeat customers, a testament that her business model provides exactly what men want.

“Men want to walk in, get a good haircut and get on with their day and that’s what we offer,” she said.

Instead of being asked for your personal information when customers walk in the door, they are offered a cup of coffee and a welcoming smile.

Haircuts cost $20 for men and $15 for boys under 12. A military discount is offered.

All cuts include a shampoo after the cut.

“Not only does this wash all the loose hair off our customers but it also helps us make sure our cuts are exact,” said Van Sant.

The shop also carries a line of men’s hair care products by Bosley, Paul Mitchell, Woody’s and Johnny B.

Just Cuts for Guys is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.–8 p.m., Saturday from 9a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

“We’re a walk-in place so customers can visit us at their convenience,” said Van Sant. For more information about Just Cuts for Guys, visit www.justcutsforguys.com or call 661-7024.
