Newland Communities is once again offering a free concert series this summer called Concerts for a Cause. The concerts will be held at the Newland Communities of Waterset in Apollo Beach and in the newest section of FishHawk Ranch in Lithia near Barrington Middle School and Stowers Elementary. All concerts are free and open to the public.

The concert series will not only be fun and entertaining for all who attend, but attendees will help fight hunger in our community. Currently, one in six people in our area face hunger or food insecurity. Admission is free, but attendees are asked to donate a non-perishable food item.

Newland Communities is teaming up with Feeding America Tampa Bay to help area families in need. Last year, they collected nearly three tons of food. This amounts to more than 5,000 meals. With the help of the community, even more families in need can be helped this year.

Lynda McMorrow, Marketing Manager for FishHawk Ranch by Newland Communities said, “The Tampa Bay area has a vast population of men, women and children who go hungry every day. In 2010, Newland Communities decided to combine live, family-friendly entertainment with philanthropy by providing concerts to the community in exchange for suggested non-perishable food donations for Feeding America Tampa Bay.”

The concerts will feature some of the best bands in the Tampa Bay area. At Waterset, the concert series will take place at The Landing, located at 7012 Sail View Ln. in Apollo Beach. In FishHawk Ranch, the concerts will be held at a new location, Central Park located at 14215 Barrington Stowers Dr. in Lithia.

McMorrow said, “Since 2010, these concerts have experienced growth. The concerts have resulted in more than seven tons of food, which equals nearly 12,000 meals. We are thrilled to host the FishHawk Ranch concerts at a new location.”
