MMAeventFlorida Championship Fighting is coming to Brandon on Saturday, August 16 at the Regent in Brandon. The event will feature over 10 sanctioned bouts with experienced fighters from all across Florida.

The main event will include a Florida Championship Fighting Title fight between Terry Janoski from Tampa and Tony Murphy from Pinellas Park. Janoski and Murphy are two of the top ranked mixed martial arts (MMA) competitors in the state of Florida.

There will also be other highlight matches with people from the Tampa area including Dan Martinez (Tampa) versus Stephon Reese (Tampa) and Danny Matos (Tampa) and RJ Saunders (Cape Coral).

Having a 13,000 sq.-ft. ballroom, being easily accessible, and having an attractive interior and exterior is how The Regent was chosen for this event. Florida Championship Fighting has been looking for a venue in the Tampa area for the amateur division for some time. They wanted a venue that would “compliment the high class production and exciting events associated with our promotion,” according to David Joseph, President of Florida Championship Fighting.

“We are transforming and perfecting the way we operate to continuously improve our ability to give our fans a glimpse of the superstar fighters of tomorrow while presenting a totally entertaining event from beginning to end,” Joseph said.

The event will also feature Ring Girls, a life DJ, vendors and more. There will be a meet and greet autograph session with some of the fighters prior to the event.

Tickets for the event are $30 for general admission and $65 for VIP Premium seating. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the action will start at 7:30 p.m.

“Our employees and partners have continued to meet the challenges in this industry and have excelled in all ways. We are all very proud of where we are today and excited about where we are headed in the sport of MMA,” said Joseph.

The Regent is located at 6437 Watson Rd. in Riverview. To purchase tickets for the event or learn more about Florida Championship Fighting, visit www.fcfighting.com or go to their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/fcfighting.
