Christ Community Church will be offering Vacation Bible School beginning Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27. The fun begins on Friday night from 6:30–9:30 p.m. with dinner included. On Saturday, studies will resume from 3–5:30 p.m. with dinner and a movie to follow. The weekend concludes on Sunday morning with a VBS presentation and a brunch after the 10:15 a.m. worship service. The Firehouse Cultural Center’s annual Summer Arts Camp starts Monday, July 7 through Friday, August 8 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with four weeks and four different types of art to entertain and educate the 8-14 year old age group. The Firehouse Cultural Center, a non-profit visual and performing cultural center, provides quality programming in arts and education for all ages. On Saturday, May 31 the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce held its Hat Toss for the 2015 Honorary Mayor of Riverview Race at the FishHawk-Riverview Rotary Club’s Annual Crawfish Festival. The first candidate to step forward was Christian Beiter of Preservation 1st Financial Group, LLC, followed by Christine Ans of the FishHawk-Riverview Rotary Club then Stacy Self of Stacy Self Creative Counseling.
The winner will hold the title of Honorary Mayor of Riverview from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015 and will also be appointed to the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for the same period of time. The race results will be announced at the GRCC Monthly Membership Meeting Luncheon on Tuesday, July 22. HealthSource EasesPotential Pain-Related Issues for Students
A new school support program founded by HealthSource Chiropractic Progressive Rehab and Wellness will provide funding for local schools, while helping to relieve pain-related issues for students and members of the community.
The program will provide free community health screenings (a $189 value) in exchange for $15 donations to the schools in Brandon, Riverview, Valrico and FishHawk. Donations will be accepted at the office located at 166 E. Bloomingdale Ave., Ste. B until Friday, August 1.

Good Samaritan Mission will hold its annual Back to School Outreach on Saturday, August 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to help families get ready for the new school year.
It is now collecting school supplies and hopes to help with the class room supply lists children are expected to bring in. Volunteers are needed, especially bilingual folks, to help for the day. Volunteers are asked to come by 9 a.m. and stay until 3 p.m. doing shifts as necessary. There is a specific need for folks to do haircuts and manicures for young girls.
