LifePathtruckOn September 23 of last year, Life’s Treasures Thrift Store opened in Brandon. This fairly large store is filled with everything from clothing to house wares, from jewelry to furniture, all of a generally high quality. The goal is to support the programs and services at LifePath Hospice, which features community grief support groups as well as children’s grief camps.

“Chapters Health Systems owns Life’s Treasures in Brandon,” said CherylAnn Haley, manager at the shop. “There are also other locations in South Tampa and Carrollwood. South Tampa, which opened in 2002, was the original store while Carrollwood followed in 2008.” Those with a passion for this charity are excited to have finally extended this non-profit business to the community of Brandon.

The success of Life’s Treasures does not come without much labor and donations. “Life’s Treasures is always looking for volunteers, both teens and adults,” Haley said. “We currently have several teens from local high schools working to receive community service hours, while receiving intense training in cash handling, customer service and merchandise handling.” With the friendly and wholesome environment, this serves as a great opportunity for teens or adults to beat summer boredom by working for a worthwhile cause at this thrift and charity shop.

Residents and local businesses may also donate their high quality items, such as clothing, shoes, housewares, home décor, accent piece furniture and jewelry. Donations may be dropped off at the store anytime Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. A truck is also available to pick up items for donation.

Life’s Treasures thrift shop is located at 1335 W. Brandon Blvd. To find out more about LifePath Hospice, visit www.chaptershealth.org.  To sign up to receive coupons and a monthly newsletter from Life’s Treasures, text ‘LIFESTREASURES’ to 22828.
