Thousands of residents and concertgoers from the Tampa Bay area contributed roughly 3 tons of nonperishable food to Feeding America Tampa Bay during Newland Communities’ Concerts for a Cause series. AMERICAN NEWLAND COMMUNITIES, their joint venture partner NORTH AMERICAN SEKISUI HOUSE, LLC (NASH) is pleased to announce more than 7,000 meals will now go to Tampa Bay area families thanks to the food donated during the 12 concerts held between two area communities, FishHawk Ranch and Waterset.

“We are constantly amazed by our residents’ kindness and how the community gathers together for the greater good,” said Pam Parisi, director of marketing for Newland Communities. “These generous donations far exceeded last year’s total.”

The Concerts for a Cause series has been a staple for FishHawk Ranch and now Waterset. This year, both communities exceeded last year’s donations, nearly doubling the previous year’s total.

“This year’s Concert for a Cause series topped itself yet again, and we couldn’t be more thankful to have collaborated with Newland Communities,” said Karen Griffin, director of development for Feeding America Tampa Bay. “The food collected at FishHawk Ranch and Waterset will continue to supply our partner charities with shelf-stable food and will help feed the 700,000 hungry people throughout West Central Florida.”

The 12 concerts were free of charge to the general public. In lieu of an admissions fee, participants were asked to bring a voluntary nonperishable donation. Live music ranged from classic rock to top 40 hits.

FishHawk Ranch and Waterset are owned in a joint venture partnership between NORTH AMERICA SEKISUI HOUSE, LLC (NASH), the U.S. business unit and full subsidiary of SEKISUI HOUSE, LTD., Japan’s largest homebuilder and leading diversified developer, and Newland Real Estate Group, LLC, whose development business, Newland Communities, is the master developer of the community.
