WaybacklogoWayback Burgers has been serving the FishHawk community the past year with fresh burgers, chicken sandwiches and hand spun milkshakes.

“We’re going to be having our one year anniversary on Thursday, August 14. We’ll be having food specials throughout the day, giving away promotional items and making it a fun one-year anniversary,” said Chris Scigliano, Managing Partner at Wayback Burgers.

Wayback Burgers has several promotional days throughout the year. It just recently hosted free shake day where 1,308 free shakes were given away, which broke the company record. For National Hot Dog Day in July, it gave away hot dogs to the first 50 customers.

Promotions are not the only way it gets business. Scigliano explained another menu item that draws crowds.

“We have a Triple Triple Burger. It is nine patties with nine slices of cheese, topped however they want it. Most people get it ‘Our Way,’ which is ketchup, mustard, pickles, onion, lettuce and tomato. We had a girl, 120 lbs., soaking wet, who ate it in a minute and 42 seconds,” Scigliano said.

Football players and other kids like to time how fast they can eat the Triple Triple Burger. At the Grand Opening last year, the first one to finish the burger won a mini-iPad.

The meat at Wayback Burgers is fresh, never frozen. Scigliano said that the burgers are not waiting, but are made when a customer order, which means it may take a little longer than a typical fast food restaurant.

“We also sell wine and beer here and we’re not just burgers. We have chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken, all-beef hotdogs, appetizers, salads and a cod fish sandwich. We have a Burger of the Month and a Shake of the Month. Next month’s shake is Wildberry and the burger is a Fried Pickle Bacon Cheeseburger,” he said.

The next Wayback Burgers event will be on Saturday, August 2 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. This will be its first Semi-Annual Kid-to-Kid Toy Drive. Kids can register for tables and sell their old toys, but they need to bring their own table and cash box with change. There is a $5 booth fee, which requires payment in advance by Friday, August 1 at the restaurant. All fees will be donated to a local agency, Seeds of Hope.
