ArtShortchalkOn Saturday, November 1, Center Place and the Brandon League of Fine Arts (BLFA) will present the Eighth Annual Chalk Walk & Art Fest and the Fourth Annual Indoor Outdoor Art Fest. This is a fantastic day of art for the whole family at Center Place of Brandon.

Both events are free, but tickets are required for the Chalk Walk which is a special celebration of the arts for children ages 3 and up.

The BLFA Indoor Outdoor Art Fest will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and is open to members and non-members.  Proceeds from entry fees are used to fund the BLFA high school scholarship fund which is given to graduating high school seniors who wish to pursue a fine arts education.

Chalk Walk will take place from 1-3 p.m. around the lake next to Center Place. Outside, members of The Greater Brandon Arts Council will be offering hands on art projects.

Children will receive a box that contains chalk, coupons and other goodies from area businesses.

Dawn Galia, Executive Director of Center Place said, “Exploring hands on fun using chalk or any other art medium is great creative play for every member of the family. The children can use their imagination, while the parents can enjoy no mess and no stress. We all know that the arts can inspire children to begin a journey of artistic discovery. We believe the arts make a difference.”

Center Place is located at 619 Vonderburg Dr. in Brandon. For more information on Center Place, visit www.centerplacebrandon.org. For more information on the Brandon League of Fine Arts, visit www.blfa.us.
