When Wawa market officials announced their plan to bring the “Wawa experience” to area residents, they meant business. With the planned opening of several local area stores in Brandon, Valrico and Riverview, the company has clearly kept true to its promise.

The company is proudly celebrating its banner year of growth and investment, which includes the grand opening of its second, new Riverview store this year, located at 13026 S. U.S. Hwy. 301.

Wawa2The grand opening of its second Riverview store actually marks the company’s 17th store to open so far this year.

“We are thrilled to bring the Wawa experience to the residents of Riverview, and we look forward to demonstrating our commitment to fulfilling lives with our fresh food and beverages and with meaningful connections with our new friends and neighbors,” said Wawa President and CEO Chris Gheysens. “From building new connection points with Wawa Rewards to opening new stores in new communities, we’ve never been more committed to investing in our communities and fulfilling customer’s lives each and every day.”

Throughout the year, WawWawaBanda plans to use its new store design prototype to bring the Wawa experience to more communities than ever before, opening 50 new stores throughout its operating area, including 25 in the Mid-Atlantic market and 25 in the Florida market.

The celebration scheduled for Thursday, July 9 includes fanfare, a charitable hoagie building competition between the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue and the Sheriff’s Office, not to mention everyone’s favorite; free coffee through Saturday, July 18.

According to Wawa Spokesperson Colleen Labik, the store will also offer several grand opening specials, including any size fountain drink for $0.89 and any Shorti hoagie variety for $2.99.Wawa4

Also new for 2015, the Riverview grand opening will feature a special visit from Wawa’s SurPrize Patrol, Wawa’s official gift and event patrol.

“During the event, the SurPrize Patrol will be on hand to personally help reward grand opening attendees who are signed up with Wawa’s new app and rewards program called Wawa Rewards, granting customers coupons and prizes on the spot,” Labik said.
