Riverview Has New Cuban Restaurant
Papi’s Cuban Kitchen has recently opened its doors in Riverview. Owners Mike and Nelson Valladares describe their restaurant as a culinary trip to Cuba. Hospice Care Discussion Series Continues at Inspired Living
Join Inspired Living at Sun City Center for an educational discussion about hospice care and services with guest speaker Melissa DeBrine. DeBrine has worked for LifePath Hospice for 18 years and has assisted numerous families in setting up hospice services for their loved ones and educates the community on a variety of aging and end-of-life issues. Bridges Assisted Living Residents Keep Active with Putt Putt
Residents of the Bridges Assisted Living Facility were treated to a game of miniature golf in June. This was an opportunity for residents to be active, social and a little competitive. In addition to the golf game, the assisted living residents stay active with a variety of activities such as chair dancing, karaoke, art classes, corn hole, Wii bowling, mind games, “happy hours,” Bible study, and group outings to restaurants and shopping. AAA will host a family-friendly community event entitled “Summer Safety Bash” inside and outside of its Brandon location. Local attractions that have confirmed to be represented by their own employees include Lowry Park Zoo, Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and LegoLand, along with prize donations. There will be various demonstrations and exhibits from a variety of local businesses and Tampa General Hospital will make vehicle booster seats available. Leadership Hillsborough Accepting Applications for 2016 Class
Leadership Hillsborough provides development opportunities to Hillsborough County professionals who seek to expand their knowledge of the dynamics, issues, challenges and opportunities that impact their work and Hillsborough County. Applications to participate in the 2016 Class are being accepted through Friday, July 31. Leadership Hillsborough is a unique program that brings together a broad diversity of professionals to form better understanding of their roles as community leaders, to build long-lastin g relationships, and to create an influential network and collaborative opportunities. The 10-month-long program runs September through June. It requires a commitment of at least one full day per month with an overnight opening retreat, and a mid-year retreat.
