All artists, amateurs, professionals and juniors (middle school grades 6-8 and secondary school grades 9-12) who live in Hillsborough County, are invited to submit entries for the 2015 Hillsborough County Fair Fine Arts Show. The Hillsborough County Fair runs Thursday to Sunday, October 22 to 25 and Thursday to Sunday, October 29 to November 1. The fair is held at 215 Sydney Washer Rd. in Dover.

Entries for the Fine Arts Show are currently being accepted. Those who pre-register receive one free fair ticket. Pre-registration must be postmarked by Monday, October 12.

The entry form can be downloaded at www.hillsboroughcountyfair.com (click on “competition” and then “visual arts”). Entry forms can be emailed to mjwagoner5757@gmail.com or mailed to Mary Jane Wagner at 3412 Silver Meadow Way, Plant City, FL 33566.

All Fine Arts entries must be hand delivered to the fairgrounds on Saturday, October 17 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or on Monday, October 19 from 3-6 p.m. There is no entry fee.

Fine Arts consist of acrylic, graphics (pencil, charcoal and ink), mixed media, oil and watercolor. Exhibitors may enter three pieces not to exceed 32 inches at the longest point. All artwork should have appropriately installed screws and wire for hanging. Adult artwork must be framed or gallery wrapped.

The process of judging will be by point system based on design, composition, mastery of medium, technique and presentation. There will be winners for Best of Show, First, Second and Third Place. Small monetary prizes and ribbons will be awarded in all categories.

Mary Jane Wagner, chair of the Fine Arts Show said, “The quality of the art has been amazing and many of the artists’ renderings have been seen in other art shows around the area.”
