The 7th Annual Bowling Your Brains Out For Epilepsy will be held on Sunday, November 1 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at The Alley at South Shore located at 10221 Big Bend Rd. in Riverview. This annual event is organized by Roni-Kay Lopez of Riverview.

All proceeds from the 7th Annual Bowling Your Brains Out For Epilepsy benefit the Florida Epilepsy Services (FES), a non-profit organization that provides medical assistance, patient and family counseling and health care services to over 700 area patients. FES was established in 1973. FES provides services in Hillsborough County and is the sole provider of services in Polk County.

Lopez said, “This year we are having open pool and darts during the bowl-a-thon. All participants can take part in the raffle and silent auction as well. We will have T-shirts, bracelets, magnets and a few other items for sale to help promote awareness during the month of November.”

Lopez added, “We are still looking for sponsors, attendees and donations to help us reach out goal of $30,000.

Help us ‘seize the moment’ and make this happen.”

Some items that will be available in either the raffle or the silent auction include camp out baskets, gift cards, Vera Bradley items and hotel stays at Hilton. Everyone is invited to the event.

Lopez said her goal this year is to raise $25,000.

“This will help to provide medication, MRI, EEG testing, lab work and consults to assist those who need financial help. I attend several support groups with Tampa General Hospital to help those in need.” Lopez added, “The state has again cut funding, and I strive to supplement the cuts so that they can get the care they need and deserve. This event is designed to reach out to those who suffer and support them as well as make the awareness large spread. My goal for 10 years is to make this a statewide event.”

In addition to individual participants, sponsorships are available, and these include lane sponsors of $250, $500 and $1,000.
