Patty Sisco’s love of art was the reason that she opened Sketch and Sip over seven years ago.

She wanted to share her love of art with the community, and over the years, not only has she accomplished this with the help of her instructors and assistants, but she has created a unique environment for friends to gather together to do something creative and fun.

The best part about Sketch and Sip is that even if you are not an artist or feel that you have little talent, you can go there to enjoy the evening and bring home your own original piece of art that you create. The instructors will walk you through a step-by-step process. Bring your own drinks and enjoy the evening. A lot of people find this not only a lot of fun, but also therapeutic.

The business recently celebrated its fifth anniversary in August at its Winthrop location at 11242 Winthrop Main St., Riverview, and due to the success of this location, Sisco is opening up a second location in St. Petersburg, which will open soon.

Sisco was the first to open a paint/drink business in Florida and this concept has grown exponentially since then.

This new studio, located at 1010 Central Ave., is twice the size as the original Winthrop location and is within walking distance to Tropicana Field. It is located in the Edge District, which is a growing and vibrant area.

Sisco said, “Our main mission is to spread art throughout the extended community. I am excited to get to know the folks in St. Petersburg.”

Her hope is to expand and grow even more in the future. “We are very thankful to everyone who supports our business,” Sisco added.

Sketch and Sip is also in the process of refreshing its Winthrop location with new hydraulic bar stools, which will make for more comfortable seating. New dishwashers are being installed and there is also a new blow-drying station.

Sketch and Sip is ready to help you celebrate the holidays. You can paint a snowman on Saturday, December 12 at 7 p.m. or maybe you would prefer to begin your toast to the New Year on Wednesday, December 30 at 7:30 p.m. by painting two champagne flutes; complimentary champagne included.

Check the calendar online for all of the upcoming classes. Visit www.sketchandsip.com or call 644-5954.
