A Call To Artists has been issued by the East Hillsborough Art Guild (EHAG) for the 2016 Florida Strawberry Festival Fine Art Show which will run from Thursday, March 3 to Sunday, March 13. The Fine Art Show will be held in the Milton E. Hull Building on the Strawberry Festival Fairgrounds.

Debra Bryant, who is in her fifth year as the chair of the Fine Art Show, said, “I would encourage everyone to enter this show. We have eight Adult Division (four professional four amateur, miniature and sculpture), in which to compete. It’s a win/win since the monetary outlay and physical stress are minimal as compared to an outdoor show or art fair. Newly emerging shy artists get a big kick out of bringing their friends, neighbors, family into the gallery to view their artwork.”

This year’s show will be a grand event with over $4,500 available in prizes. This includes the prestigious Purchase Award sponsored by Suncoast Credit Union and the Business Leaders’ Choice Awards.

While this is not a juried show, there is limited space. Early entries are being accepted through Friday, February 12. Artists can mail the entry form (found at www.ehagfinearts.com) and fees to EHAG, P.O. Box 4763, Plant City, FL 33564. Artwork is to be delivered on Friday, February 26.

For anyone who is entering the show, it is crucial that you carefully review the rules prior to entering.

In addition to the Adult Divisions, there are multiple Youth Divisions. Bryant said, “Our Youth Divisions are grouped by age rather than media, since artistic maturity is a huge factor in the judging process.” Bryant added, “This will be our second year of offering cash awards to first, second and third place winners in the Youth Division. These awards have been made possible by Jim Scott of Jarrett-Scott Ford in Plant City.”

According to Bryant, “This show is seen by over half a million national and international visitors each year.”

The entry forms and rules can be found at www.ehagfinearts.com. If you have any additional questions, email stfestartshow@gmail.com.
