Staff Report

Newland Communities has selected D.R. Horton as its newest builder in the Apollo Beach community of Waterset.

D.R. Horton, which has been recognized as the top homebuilder in the U.S. for more than 13 years in a row, will offer homebuyers seven different floor plans, ranging from three to five bedrooms and two to two-and-a-half baths. Floor plans will include both single story and two story homes.

Construction is already underway on a model home, which is expected to open by late February. The Lantana is a single level, three bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home with and optional den and approximately 2,045 sq. ft. of living space. It offers a spacious kitchen, which flows into the great room; and a well-appointed master suite.

“The addition of D.R. Horton at Waterset adds more options for today’s homebuyer,” said Pam Parisi, director of marketing for Newland Communities. “Their inclusion adds to the momentum we’re building at Waterset, and we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome a company that offers outstanding designs, craftsmanship and customer service.”

“Newland has a proven track record of developing great communities,” said Scott Eckley, vice president of sales in the Tampa Division. “D.R. Horton is committed to growing in Tampa, and South Hillsborough is a fast-expanding area that we want to be building in. Working with Newland at Waterset was an obvious choice, and we expect our team effort will be very successful.”

Homes are expected to range between 1,844 sq. ft to 2,806 sq. ft. and will be priced from the $220s.

D.R. Horton has built more than 520,000 homes with quality, functionality, value, and style in mind. The company builds in 27 states and 79 markets, and in Tampa-Sarasota area.

Waterset is owned in a joint venture partnership between NORTH AMERICA SEKISUI HOUSE, LLC (NASH), the U.S. business unit and full subsidiary of SEKISUI HOUSE, LTD., Japan’s largest homebuilder and leading diversified developer, and Newland Real Estate Group, LLC, whose development business, Newland Communities, is the master developer of the community. Waterset is one of more than 30 communities the NASH-Newland partnership owns together in 11 states across the United States.
