The Rivercrest Community Development District is honored to announce its scholarship competition for the year of 2016. The District will be awarding one $1,000 scholarship on Monday, July 18 during their regular meeting of the Rivercrest CDD Board of Supervisors at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center Clubhouse.

High school seniors graduating in June 2016 whose parent or legal guardian is an owner and resident of a property within the district, and who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, qualify for application to this scholarship program. The applicant must be accepted to an accredited four year college or university to apply.

The application consists of a short qualification form and submission of an essay of white letter size paper in typed print. Essay should be 1,000 words long, and should not exceed 1,750 words in total.
•Essay to cover at minimum the following points:

•Briefly share your life story and educational enjoyments.

•Share what hobbies, extracurricular and volunteer activities you are involved in and why.

•Explain why you selected the college you will be attending.

•Communicate your course of study (major and minor) and why.

•Include the ambitions you have for yourself when completing your college degree.

•Comment on how you will give back to the community.

•Share why you should be awarded this scholarship.

Deadline for complete application submission with essay is Friday, June 24 at 5 p.m
