Restaurants, caterers and bakeries, oh my. It’s all at this year’s The Taste of Brandon on Saturday, April 30.

“We are very excited about this year’s event,” said Denise Pare, director of events for the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce (GBCC).

The event is in a new location this year, making its home at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds in Dover. Pare said the spot was changed from last year’s venue to this one because, “We needed more room to expand.”
Guests will be able to taste menu samples from 12 Noon-5 pm from Brandon area restaurants, and there will be a “Best of” competition where attendees can vote for their favorite tasting. There will also be arts, live music, crafts, retail vendors and “a large children’s play area with free activities,” said Pare. GBCC puts on this annual event and Pare said, “We are trying to create a family friendly event with things to do for all ages. We want everyone to attend so we try to keep the costs low for those coming to the event.”

General admission tickets are $15 and include food. Back by popular demand, VIP tickets are on sale for $25, which includes food and a beer and wine tasting from local wine distributors and breweries. Children ages 3-11 are $5 and if they are under the age of 3, they get in free.

Pare said GBCC is targeting all different kinds of food vendors, including Bar-B-Q, Latin cuisine and more. “You name it, we’re interested,” laughed Pare. Local restaurateurs who want to participate still have time to register. The deadline is Friday, April 22. To participate in all the festivities at this year’s Taste of Brandon, visit the event at 215 Sydney Washer Rd. in Dover.
