Ending the 2015-2016 school year, thousands of students representing 28 high schools throughout Hillsborough County had a chance to celebrate one the most important days of their young lives; graduation.

Included during each graduation ceremony, or as some call it degree day, commencement, or invocation, is the traditional valedictorian and salutatorian speeches delivered by exemplary seniors who stood out from the rest of their classmates due to their personal achievements.

The often emotionally charged events held around the country at the end of May and early June is a time to say goodbye as students, teachers and parents reflect on memories, some of which will be cherished forever, while others many would rather forget.

This year, once again graduation ceremonies were scheduled to held at the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall.
