The Florida Academy of the Performing Arts at Music Showcase in Brandon will offer a Worship Team Summer Boot Camp for intermediate singers and musicians. The sessions will be held on Saturday, June 18 and 25 and July 9 and 16 from 10 a.m.-12 Noon. The cost is $225 plus a one time $25 registration fee.

On Saturday, July 16 there will be a live performance. All sessions and the performance will be held at Music Showcase located at 402 Oakfield Dr. in Brandon.

Eric Hernandez is the founder of Excellence in Worship. He has been an active member of worship teams for 25 years and a worship pastor for more than 15 years. Hernandez will lead singers and musicians in this worship camp experience.

Hernandez explained why he is giving this workshop. “I have been a part of professional performances since the age of nine. I have always been used to an atmosphere of passion and utmost effort when it comes to the arts, especially music. Through the years I have found that there are many like me in the church that have become frustrated or even withdrawn altogether from worship ministry because, like myself, they did not see the commitment and passion for excellence that felt right for the God we serve,” explained Hernandez.

The workshop will help you learn to develop and schedule a worship team. Attendees will learn to use Planning Center to manage all of you team’s music files. You will also learn to use Ableton for click and support tracks, and you will learn about picking and performing songs.

Hernandez said, “In this workshop, I will be teaching and training on all aspects and helping younger musicians and adults that have not been exposed to that to be immersed and become knowledgeable in these resources. They will be more than ready to join churches which have these systems in place or even motivate their churches to put these systems in place if they do not have it.”
